The Beginning
Check Printers, Inc. was founded in 1961 to print checks
for banks in Middle Tennessee. Banks had just begun
to convert to MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition),
the automation concept that allowed checks to be read
by computers.
Check Printers grew rapidly as banks adopted the new
processing technology. Since a check printing company’s
market was limited to the area within a 100-mile radius
of its plant, Check Printers began to explore new avenues
for the growth of our business.
Expansion through Innovation
In the early 1970s Check Printers began producing payment
books to capitalize on its MICR technology and began
to use computer-driven printers to produce payment books.
This innovative process proved to be highly successful
and payment books became the fastest-growing segment
of the business.
Expansion through Technology
Check Printers has evolved into a leading provider of
statement delivery solutions to the financial service
and utility industries.
Today, as a company committed to quality production
and outstanding customer service, Check Printers offers
fully integrated production facilities. Our state-of-the-art
printing, envelope manufacturing, information technology
and mail handling equipment allow us to control all
facets of production and to respond quickly to our
clients’ needs.
